BUILD A MINIATURE TOWN CAKE

To make this town, bake your favorite sheet cake.

Using a few drops of food coloring, turn vanilla icing into green grass, and frost the cake. Then, either buy or bake a couple of batches of gingerbread cookies, vanilla wafers, chocolate cookies, and sugar biscuits.

Have everyone help frost the cookies, using different-colored frosting.

Add the cookies to the sheet cake, and build houses and buildings to transform your cake into a town.

Use upside-down ice cream cones covered with green frosting for trees.

Small candy bars can be smokestacks,

Licorice works best to make railroad tracks.

Gumdrops can be flowers.

Pile marshmallows together to make mountains.

Add chocolate sprinkles for dirt.

MUSICAL HUNT

Hide an object somewhere in the room and have the children search for it as they play this variation on You're Getting Warmer.

Line up the youngsters and have them hold hands.

Turn on some music, and have them march around the house together.

When the music gets louder, they'll know they're getting closer to the hidden item.

When you turn down the volume, they're moving away from it.
